Happy Sad Cloud Pin - Free Pattern

This is the latest item I have for sale in my etsy store. I am inspired to create this pin earlier in October when I looked up the blue sky and saw the pretty clouds floating by. For those of you who would like to make one yourselves, here is the the pattern for creating this. They are very simple to make and they make a great small gift or a Christmas stocking stuffer!

Happy Sad Cloud Pin Crochet Pattern:

Materials:

  • Bulky yarn in White (the fluffy soft ones are the best)
  • Any gauge hook that you like
  • 1.25 inch Pin
  • Embroidery floss in pink
  • 0.25 inch safety eye (or embroidery floss in black)
  • White sewing thread
  • Sewing Needles
Cloud (make 2 for front and back side)
Foundation Row: Ch 6
Rnd 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook, (sc in the next st) 4 times, 5 sc in last ch, turn sideways and continue along the other side of the foundation ch (sc in the next st)3 times, 4 sc in the first ch of this rnd, sl st to first sc. Turn. (16 sc total)
Rnd 2: Ch 1, (sc in the next st) 5 times, (2 sc in the next st) 3 times, (sc in the next st) 5 times, (2 sc in the next st) 3 times, join with a sl st to first ch. Fasten off. (22 sc total)

Finish:
  1. Position the eyes on the center of the cloud (about 4-5 st apart between the eyes), and then sew on the eyes using either safety eyes or black embroidery floss.
  2. Use pink embroidery floss to sew on a V shape at the center of the eyes.
  3. With the other crochet cloud sew on the pin.
  4. Put the two clouds together so the face and the pin is facing outward, and sew the two pieces together with some white thread. (alternatively you can use the same yarn to sew it together, but I find it easier to use plain white thread).
  5. That's it you are done!

I hope you have fun making your own Happy Sad Cloud Brooch. If you see a mistake in the patter, please let me know!
