I love crocheting little pigs. So I decided to create this little amigurumi pig crochet pattern. I love how this pig has a large head and large eyes, I think it makes the pig look cute. The finished pig is about 5 inches tall and 3 inches wide. I hope you enjoy this pattern as well!
Little Pig Amigurumi Crochet PatternCrochet Terminology:
ch: Chain
Rnd: Round
sc: Single Crochet
sl st: Slip Stitch
st: Stitch
sc dec: Single Crochet decrease (2 st to 1 st)
Materials:
F/5 - 3.75mm crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn in the color of your choice (baby blue Read Heart yarn shown in picture)
Worsted weight yarn in beige for pig snout
Polyester fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle to weave in ends
Stitch Marker
9mm Safety Eye
Brown embroidery floss
Tips:
Do not join at end of each round; rounds are worked in continuous spirals.
To keep track, use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round. Move the marker up when you start a new round.
Here's a tutorial of magic ring
Pig body (make 1):
Start with blue yarn
Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6 st total)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st round (12 st total)
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) 6 times (18 st total)
Rnd 4 - 9: sc in each st round (18 st total)
Join with sl st to next st. Fasten off and weave in ends with yarn needle.
Pig Head (make 1):
Start with blue yarn
Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in magic ring (8 st total)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st round (16 st total)
Rnd 3: (sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) 8 times (24 st total)
Rnd 4: (sc in the next 2 st, 2 sc in next st) 8 times (32 st total)
Rnd 5: sc in each st round (32 st total)
Rnd 6: (sc in the next 3 st, 2 sc in next st) 8 times (40 st total)
Rnd 7: sc in each st round (40 st total)
Rnd 8: (sc in the next 9 st, 2 sc in next st) 4 times (44 st total)
Rnd 9 - 11: sc in each st round (44 st total)
Rnd 12: (sc in the next 9 st, sc dec) 4 times (40 st total)
Rnd 13: sc in each st round (40 st total)
Rnd 14: (sc in the next 3 st, sc dec) 8 times (32 st total)

Pig Arms and Legs (Make 4):
Start with blue yarn
Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring (5 st total)
Rnd 2 - 5: sc in each st round (5 st total)
Join with sl st to next st. Fasten off. Leave plenty of yarn at the end for joining pieces together.
Pig Snout (Make 1):
Start with blue yarn
Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 5 sc in magic ring (5 st total)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st round (10 st total)
Change to beige yarn
Rnd 3 - 4: sc in each st round (10 st total)
Join with sl st to next st. Fasten off. Leave plenty of yarn at the end for joining pieces together.
Pig Ears (Make 2):
Start with blue yarn
Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 4 sc in magic ring (4 st total)
Rnd 2 - 3: sc in each st round (4 st total)
Join with sl st to next st. Fasten off. Leave plenty of yarn at the end for joining pieces together.
Finish:
- Use embroidery yarn to sew in the pig's air hole on the snout, about 1 Rnd apart.
- Position the pig snout on the pig head, starting at Rnd 8 of the pig head. Sew in the pig snout to the head using whip stitch and stuff in a little fiberfill as you sew it shut.
- Position the safety eyes on either side of the pig snout, each about 2 st away from the center of pig snout. Secure the safety eyes.
- Position the pig ears on the head, each starting from Rnd 3 of the head. Sew the ears to the head using whip stitch.
- Stuff the pig legs with fiberfill and position them on the Rnd 3 of the body, 1 st apart. Sew the legs to the body using whip stitch.
- Stuff the pig arms with fiberfill and position them on Rnd 9 of the body, 5 st apart. Sew the arms to the body using whip stitch.
- Stuff the pig head and the pig body with fiberfill and sew them together using whip stitch.
