Free Lucky Clover Amigurumi Crochet Pattern


I created this adorable Lucky 4 Leaf Clover Amigurumi Crochet Pattern to celebrate the coming Spring and St. Patrick's day. This shamrock plant never needs watering or sunlight, just love will be enough!

Lucky Clover Amigurumi Crochet Pattern

Crochet Terminology:
ch: Chain
Rnd: Round
sc: Single Crochet
dc: Double Crochet
trc: Treble Crochet
sl st: Slip Stitch
st: Stitch

Materials:
F/5 - 3.75mm crochet hook
Worsted weight yarn in green
Worsted weight yarn in light brown
Worsted weight yarn in dark brown
Polyester fiberfill stuffing
Yarn needle to weave in ends
Stitch Marker
Pink embroidery floss
Black embroidery floss

Tips:
Do not join at end of each round; rounds are worked in continuous spirals.
To keep track, use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of each round. Move the marker up when you start a new round.

Clover: (Make 1)
Start with green yarn

Part 1: Stem:
Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 4 sc in magic ring (4 st total)
Rnd 2 - 8: sc in each st round (4 st total)

See Schematics below or the following written instructions:


(continue from Rnd 8 of the stem part)
Rnd 9: [st 3 times, trc 2 times into next st, st 3 times, sl st]repeat 4 times.
Rnd 10: [sc 3 times, [2 dc into next st]repeat 2 times, sc 3 times]repeat 4 times.
fasten off and weave in ends with yarn needle.

Soil: (Make 1)
Use dark brown yarn.
Make a magic ring, ch 1.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6 st total)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st round (12 st total)
Rnd 3: [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] repeat 6 times. (18 st total)
Rnd 4: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st] repeat 6 times (24 st total)
fasten off and weave in ends with yarn needle.

Pot: (Make 1)
Use light brown yarn.
Make a magic ring, ch 1
Rnd 1: 6 sc in magic ring (6 st total)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st round (12 st total)
Rnd 3: [2 sc in next st, sc in next st] repeat 6 times. (18 st total)
Rnd 4: [2 sc in next st, sc in next 2 st] repeat 6 times (24 st total)
Rnd 5 - 12: sc in each st round (24 st total)
fasten off and leave some yarn at the end for joining pieces together.

Finish:
  1. Use black embroidery yarn to sew in eyes on Rnd 7 of the pot, 3 st apart.
  2. Use pink embroidery yarn to sew in smile on Rnd 6 of the pot between the eyes.
  3. Use a piece of green yarn to sew the clover onto the center of the crocheted soil.
  4. Fold over the mouth of the crocheted pot to Rnd 8 of the pot to create an edge.
  5. Line up the edge of the soil on top of the pot. Using the yarn at the end of the pot, sew in the edge and the soil together. Put in polyfill stuffing into the pot as you close the hole.
  6. That's it you are done!

I have enjoyed this pattern, making as shown and also placing in small terra cotta pot.

I had a bit of a problem reading your pattern abbreviation "st" when making clover.
Please explain.

Mine worked fine with a little improvising, but I'd like to learn what you had in mind with this design. Thank you.
